Car rental in Croatia is a quick, safe and easy if you use a reputable company, you can find a rental companies in most large towns and cities in Croatia.  Croatia car rental companies offer new or near new vehicles with low mileage, accessories like a baby seats or roof racks can be requested at minimal cost.   Some things to consider when renting a car in Croatia: 

 

Fuel: Diesel and unleaded are the two main options when it comes to fuel, both options have their advantages, Unleaded vehicles are generally cheaper to rent, Diesel vehicles are more economical and the cost of fuel is cheaper, so you will really need to decide how long you need the vehicle and how much driving you intend to do.

 

Transmission: Most smaller vehicles come only in manual transmission, larger vehicles with larger capacity motors are offered in both manual and automatic transmissions.

Conditions

The minimum age to be eligible to rent a car in Croatia is 21, depending on the agency and the vehicle it may up to 25 years.  A valid drivers licence which has been held for at least 1 year, some agencies require you to have held your licence up to 3 years depending on the vehicle you want to rent.  You must have your passport with you or a national identity card.

  • Ensure that the vehicle has the following insurance: Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP).

  • Check your mileage per day allowance, some agencies offer limited some unlimited, this can also depends on the vehicle.

  • If you are planning on visiting or going through Bosnia and Herzegovina then you will need a Green Card (Zelena karta), the car rental company should provide the Green Card
