Croatia
has an extensive train network covering most of the country, there
is one popular tourist destination: Dubrovnik which can not be
reached by train, the furthest south train station connect to the
Croatian rail network is Split, Ploce is further south station bus
is connected to the Bosnian train network.
Travel by train is not necessarily the quickest option, but is the
cheapest and it will enable you to see stress free some of Croatia's
beautiful country side.

Croatian railways have purchased six ultra modern tilting trains
which can reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h, this will reduce the
travel time to 4.5-5 hours, Its is anticipated that vital track
works will be completed 2005 and that services will begin later in
the year.
